improvement ideas
I need to make some sort of script that automatically uploads a signal to this site that I've yet again left my phone on the charger...

mischief abound
I installed an Airport Express network at work to get us some wireless connectivity.
I also named the network after the business next door. That's sure to cause some havok.

Fun stuff
On Saturday night I got a new videogame and a special cable to hook up massive HD capibility from my cable box to my new (but at that time unpurchased TV).
The game was :
Art Of Fighting : Anthology
It has Art Of Fighting 1, 2, & 3! How awesome! It won't load on my PS2 hard drive, so I have to play with the disc, but that's OK, it's an emulator, and is the real game! Yes!
I get to play as the character that always reminded me of Eric back in the day, probably with Eric in the very near future.
We also got a new LCD TV yesterday, as the Westinghouse conked out. I used this as an excuse to get something bigger & better, a 32" Widescreen Vizio VX32L.
I got to actually use HDMI cables and see a DVD last night in upconverted 1080i! We watched the Bourne Identity and it was cool.
I don't have this TV on the wall, I could, but I like it on the shelf for viewing angle better (this week).

I'm looking at the photos in the post below, and wow. Nice photos.

I had plans...
I was going to switch over this and 32meg.net sites to my other hosting, but I have to do it within the next 10 hours, so I'll waste another $8 this month, but sometime soon, all the websites will have some updates and these 2 will be moved with the rest to the other host.
I spent the weekend playing with my 770, I have root access to it, and made it boot from the mmc memory card instead of the onboard (faster + room to grow).
Linux makes sense to me so far. Yuk!

a little thanks
Have you noticed I'm putting more pictures on lately?
That's because my friend & old neighbor Mojan is always putting up photos on her blog about her move to Israel. It's weird to see it, as I imagine it to be all dirt roads and dirt, as I tease Phil about living there, but it seems to have roads and stuff there.
Anyways, my camera isn't as fancy, I don't use/have an image editor (I import into iPhoto and then export the pictures to send as email, then copy those pictures into a folder, then rename them, then FTP them to the "pics" directory, and finally post into Blogger using my massive (feeble) HTML skills) , but I make do.
So, you can see, Tim=audio guy, Mojan=professional graphic designer.
Hopefully my posts are more interesting though, as I'd hate to lose my 4 readers to her blog...

Podcast revival!
I finally got a good software to integrate my podcast and website. I'm still ironing out kinks, but I did submit a new small podcast for download.
See sidebar for URL if you're not already down. If you are and didn't see/get the new episode drop me a line, I may have more tweaking to do.
The software I am now using is called "Feeder" for OSX.

What I'd like to do...
Is get my Palm Lifedrive running the Mac operating system. OSX, OSX86, whatever... I just want it.
It could be possible. I can hack a 8GB compact flash card in there instead of the hard drive, that'd speed things up and make more room.
I dunno, just hoping someone who accomplishes this task stumbles here and writes me an e-mails saying: "I did it, here's how".

Mail.app issues and tweaks!
Stolen from a post I put on 37
I've been having some problems with my Mail.app lately, I had e-mails that wouldn't delete (spam bounces), I couldn't quit Mail without a force-quit, it was sluggish, etc.
I researched and found this site:
Hawk Wings
Where among the tips I found:
rebuild the mailboxes
use Command-X to delete stubborn e-mails
Activity viewer within mail (it wouldn't quit because it was trying to deal with 1200 spam e-mails that hit my website catchall mails).
But what was really cool, besides changing my Mail dock icon and making the little notifications blue instead of red: Icon & Badges
was this tip for what amounts to defragging Mail's database to make it snappy as all get-out:
Vacuum command to fix Envelpoe database
My before was 13MB and my after was 5MB and wow.
I did Teflon's machine and her before was 219KB down to 170KB (someone else isn't as excited about internets and computers as I am).
Just a cool pass it along, as I hardly ever find anything this worthwhile.

Switch my browser?
I updated the 200mhz Pentium Win98 machine I use at work to a 400mhz Pentium II with XP. It's pretty cool. I installed Firefox 2.0 and it is slick. There's a skin for Super Mario Bros. 3 that is kick ass.
I'm thinking about ditching my beloved Safari on my Powerbook for Firefox so I can use that.

My new printer.
So I was on Craigslist looking for a printer because my Epson C64 got clogged to death in the black ink cartridge.
I came across an R200 which can print to disc, and I thought that'd be cool, it was $80 and still sealed, and I ended up getting it for $75.
It's the same form factor as my old one, so it was no issue to put it on my desk. It takes 6 ink carts instead of 4, but they are the same, so my extras from the C64 I can reuse.
I plug it in and install the latest driver, but that says you need an Intel for this driver, and I only have a G4. So I go online and start reading the horrid reviews. I get scared. I find a driver called Gutenprint, and install that.
No printer. I install the driver from the disc. No printer. Now I'm really scared.
I check the computer USB port, it's find. Power light is on. Still no printer.
I check the USB in the back of the printer, it's not fully seated.
I plug it in, there's the printer. I plug the printer into the Airport network, there it is.
Awesome. I print a 4x6 photo on photopaper using the Epson driver, results: kinda crappy. I print the same one using the Gutenprint driver (freeware @ sourceforge) and it looked like it came outta Walgreens photolab. Yay!
I need to get some print-on discs to try that out and see if I can find a thin glossy paper to do button art on so we can do our button factory with original artwork.
Also, I can do personal buttons for you for this sale price of $0.60 each with a minimum of 10. Write me at my sister website: mauzen.com for details, I can send a photoshop template to you to put your art on.

Sweet justice
CompUSA on Touhy is closing.
I'm glad, as I can never get any decent help there, and their "tech experts" are "idiots".
Example:
Because they are closing, they are having sales to close-out inventory. I decide to get an external Firewire 2.5" drive. All I can find are USB2 ones, which are useless to me as a boot volume because of my Powerbook only boots Firewire (and I have a 60GB USB2 2.5" drive already).
So I ask the guy if they have any, as the 2.5" external drives 2 years ago were all Firewire.
He goes: "uh, they don't make those because the Firewire specification cannot bus-power a device".
I go: "well, you're completely wrong about that, and I now don't wonder why this store is closing, enjoy your job hunt".

What if?
I'm really liking this new Blogger. What if I went back, and added these "label" tags to the last 4 years of posts? Too much, or an interesting reflection?

Changes
I got rid of the 32meg link in the sidebar, clarified that that link to iTunes goes to my Podcast that is available there, got rid of the weird sybols that were in the archive links, and shrunk down the font of those links.
This kind of stuff may reinspire my blogging.

One day...(hopefully soon...)

I'm still looking into cataloging and selling my 45's, but I'm hoping to get a new laptop with the procedes.

Forced into the new Blogger!
I held out as long as I could, but right now, I guess I had to do it.
So far the move is transparent.
I have one of those digital photograph screens by my desk (@4"x6") that rotates jpegs, it's stuffed with cat pictures.
I'm inviting you to mail me in work safe pictures that I can load onto there, so that maybe your picture will end up in the 10 minute random rotation. I'm especially interrested in pictures you may have of you and me together.
send them to photoframe@eft-teflon.com or to any e-mail address you may have on file for me.
Weight loss? Oh, hi! Um, well, let's say I got myself 3lbs for my birthday and lost 1.6 then gained 2, then lost 2.2, so I'm still not actually losing anymore. The candy bars (yes bars) I ate today due to stress have surely to help me, that and I haven't worked out since it got cold.
I'm pretty sure I owe everyone an e-mail, too.
Did everyone at my birthday celebrations receive their thank you notes?
