Recently I found a way to get video out of my cablebox DVR (Motorola HCT-6812) into my Mac. But the file sizes are enormous. And they are in a "transport stream format, which VLC can use, but not anything else. And conversion is the goal here. Last night I found that I could trick the software component of Elgato's EyeTV to view the .m2t tansport file and record it to export it. But this method now involves having to watch whatever I am trying to record twice, once onto the Mac & once into EyeTV. So I started thinking if I could trick EyeTV in a different way to make it see the cable box as an EyeTV box, I could lose a step, as I don't actually have an EyeTV box. This makes my head hurt.

Who's the master? Sho-Nuff!
2 hours into the mastering of the CD with my dad and I can see why he's good at what he does. Little tweaks make garbage into steak.
Having some file issues, but I can fix those and keep working, as he's going on vacation for a week.
A week without posting? Might have to start calling me Phil. I've been working the front desk, so I haven't been in front of a computer all day.
