how sad...
3 teeny-bopper girls were buying posters a while ago and they were ooing and awing over Bob Marley getting high posters. Then an argument happened because one girl wanted the other to save $30 so they could get a 'sack' tonight and the 3rd girl freaked that they were even talking about it and I said "I totally know what you're talking about".
Next thing I know, the one girl asks if I'm 'carrying'. Now maybe she meant 'holding', but somantics whatever, you just don't do that. So I glared at her like she was insane and they left.
Had an older customer not been there I would have said something like, well look at me, I'm 31 and I work in a record store, I closed that chapter in my life a long time ago and it was too long a chapter to begin with, so just make sure you don't do that anymore. Or something.

Coded poems
It seems the code was simpler than I thought and all it took was to tilt my head. What fun...a 'secret' way to send messages.

They write some bad poetry down south...
What the hell is going on over there? You expect nice quality rants and instead get these poems. These poems...maybe it's spy code? I'm going to get a decoder and run these poems into them and see the results.
Coke and Pepsi are making lo-carb colas
I've had both just this morning, Coke's C2 and Pepsi Edge.
My report: they suck. Pepsi Edge I suspect is re-branded Pepsi One. C2 tastes like you went to a soda fountain, started with Diet Coke, switched to regular Coke midway through, but then the syrup ran out near the end.
I'm switching to water or Jolt.

Orb interview in the new Future Music
Alex Patterson goes under the microscope and tells all. Sort of.
The gist of the article is the interviewer going "well, how did you do this...??" and Patterson going "I dunno, it just happens".
To paraphrase:
"The reason I work so well with others is that they can worry about the details, while I just make it happen".
That and he semi-trashes my favorite album of his, Pomme Fritz, by saying it was rushed and not well thought out, which to me is a load of crap. That album, when listened in entirety is a masterpiece. Song by song it can't hold, but in full, very nice.

You know why monkeys like bananas? Cuz bananas taste good.
Skinny Puppy's Greater Wrong Of The Right
Remember when Front 242 was cool? And then remember their Fuck Up Evil and Evil Off albums? Skinny Puppy did that too. You can tell t's them, but it also sounds like they want to be fresh.
I've listened to 1/2 the CD and so far no tracks are needed to be heard again. The Process had 1 track, so I figure maybe this one will too, but so far, nothing.

Mitsuwa rocked! Although they didn't have a car for Eric. I ate some bad food and some good food, and we got fun stuff.
Then we went to Ikea, but the digital camera was low on batteries, so I made this in Photoshop to make up for it.
I got a new toilet seat.

CVS is cool
They opened a CVS in downtown Evanston and the grand opening was a few weeks ago. Somehow we got a bunch of coupons for free stuff which expired yesterday, so last night we high-tailed it over there and got $30 worth of stuff for $12. Most exciting was that I had 10 digital photos printed up (free, but regularly 29¢ each) and they turned out so good you wouldn't know it was digital. And it seems cheaper and more cost effective to do so rather than waste ink-jet ink and photo paper trying to get it right.

Also yesterday a bunch of us went to see Mean Girls and then snuck into a different theatre to see Chronicles Of Riddick.
One of those films sucked some major ass.
It wasn't Mean Girls.
