Adventures in customer service vol. 3200004
They're coming outta the woodworks!
If you've ever worked retail, you know, you have regular customers you see and expect on certain days. Today all of the weekend regulars showed up all at once. Even a few we haven't seen since summer.
Has everyone been hibernating?? One warm 40 degree day and BAM !! Here they all are.
Welcome back, now pick up all the shit we've had in your hold bag.

Who's zoomin' who?
I've had my car in a public parking lot since June 1, 2003. Once a week I would go and move the car to a different spot so as to make the attendants think I wasn't just leaving my car there (even though I was).
I've been saving up money to get brakes & rotors, as loud music betrayed the noise that I was grinding into the rotors. I bought a laptop instead last month.
I don't really need the car, I can and do walk to work everyday, and my wife has a car, so we just drive hers.
I'd sell it, but I have 10 more payments or so left and I don't like the idea of not having a car (even though it's been like not having one for 9 months).
Mid-Decemnber the battery died and I was no longer able to move the car. November the dust mounted and the graffitti arrived (I had started moving it every 4 weeks or so at this point).
Mid-January my boss (who also parks in that garage) asked me if I had moved my car. I had not. Had not even been by it since before Christmas.
Well, I got sick to my stomach thinking someone stole or towed my abandoned car.
I went by the garage to see for myself, and it was gone, but then we noticed it in another section of the garage.
Someone had moved my car!
I keep it unlocked, as it's a Miata, and I have already had to repace the top because I kept it locked.
I wanted to go to the attendants and demand to know why they had moved my car, but since it'd been there since June, figured better not bother and thank my lucky stars it hadn't been towed off.
Last week it was rumoured that the garage ws closing, so I arranged to rent a parking space in the garage of my building.
Last night I went and jumped my car and moved it.
The gas smelled aweful (I had filled the tank last sometime mid-October 2002), the calipers were locked to the rotors, there was some weird clicking noise, the wiper fluid had evaporated. I drove to the new garage with my head out the window.
As I passed the attendant, he was staring. Must've wondered about when they got to have my car or something.

2004 Coachella Valley Music Festival
Probably the coolest concert in the states this year (that I know of as of today). Pixies 1st concert since the 1993 break-up, Kraftwerk (need I go on???), bands you've never heard of because the're in the NME right now. You could be on the wave's crest. Now who wants to share a hotel?

It's new music Tuesday @ the iTunes music store. Wonder what 6 month old UK Brit-pop is finally ready for the MTV masses? Sheep.
Hint: Wanna know what/who's hot with music way ahead of the time? Read the first 10 pages of the NME, then read the ads in the back.
